Surface light allows you to create both photo-realistic and abstract styled looks. In the examples to the left you can see how the light is projecting on both the model's back and on the background to create a surrealistic look.

Surface Light projects light through a shape to create photo-realistic light patterns on the surface of your image. You can simulate effects like having a person standing in front of a window pane with light streaming through the window panes and onto their body or the background.

The examples in the slideshow to the right you can create a reflection in glass type of look. The woman appears to be looking out a window and the photo captures the reflection of the scene she is looking at.
