Color Contrast increases the contrast between lighter and darker areas of the tonal range in an image without altering the color balance of the photo. Unlike traditional Curves, Levels and other tools for enhancing contrast in an image Color Contrast uses a totally different set of algorithms and techniques to protect the colors while allowing you to adjust the tonal contrast.
Color Contrast is ideally suited for images that lack depth of color. Color contrast can bring out beautiful tonal contrast through the existing colors found in your images.
In general the highlights and midtones in the image are not altered but instead the colors and the darker tones of the image are both enriched and given greater depth and tonal range to form a better contrast and color balance.
